Reference 5230 was released in 2016 and is a descendant of the well-known Patek Philippe World Time watches that were first introduced in the 1930s and have since become cult favorites among collectors and avid travelers. This cosmopolitan timepiece is being interpreted by Patek Philippe for the first time in a platinum case with a blue dial and strap. A new circular hand-guilloche motif is used to adorn the dial center. With its two cities and 24-hour rotating disks, the incredibly thin self-winding movement keeps simultaneous and permanent track of the time in all 24 time zones. By pressing the pusher at 10 o'clock, the user can simultaneously correct all of the World Time displays in one-hour increments, thanks to a clever mechanism that was patented in 1999.
